Are you passionate about supporting international students as they navigate the challenges of living and studying in Denmark? We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Team Leader to head our Student Support Unit.
About the Role: As the Team Leader, you will oversee a dedicated team of five counsellors who handle a wide range of student requests, from managing absences to providing guidance on finding work in Denmark. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our diverse student cohort receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of five student counsellors.
- Address and resolve student inquiries and issues.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for international students.
- Ensure timely and effective communication within the team.
- Focus on continuous improvement and meeting departmental goals.
- Setting the strategy for guidance and supervision and initiatives for the benefit of our students.
About You:
- Proven leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Keen eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Genuine enjoyment in interacting with international students.
- Goal-oriented with a focus on facilitating team dynamics.
- Danish speaker with a thorough understanding of the Danish social support system for students.
- Experience as a counsellor at an educational institution
- Able to function in a work environment requiring flexibility and adaptation to quick changes – especially in peak periods – especially during Induction

Employment
Employment will be secured as per collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC trade union.
The requirements for the position
The requirements for this position are that you possess:
- The ability to speak and write English fluently (Danish is a requirement.) Note that conversational English capability differs from mastery of the language at a sufficiently high level to teach in an academic setting. This position demands exceptionally strong English language speaking and writing skills.
- Master's degree in counseling may be advantageous.
- Experience with counseling principles, techniques, and practices as applied to students' problems and developmental needs.
- Excellent active listening and communication skills.
- Social and cultural perceptiveness and an understanding of body language.
- Excellent interpersonal and mediation skills.
Terms of employment:
The position is full-time, and you will start on March 1st, 2025, or as soon as possible. Salary and employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
